Must. Get. Sleep.

June 22: If you can stand a little TMI here--I’m having laparoscopic surgery next Thursday to try and fix my poor little left fallopian tube. Sucker’s completely blocked. And the ovary is enlarged. So goody goody for me. Honestly I’m more pissed at the fact that this was all just sprung on me (I just went to the doctor to bitch about my usual woes and it just spiraled out from there…grrr) AND I have to miss the second regular Friday night show of BITE. It just started and my sucky little understudy has to go on??? WTF! On the other hand, being knocked out means at least a few hours of guaranteed sleep! Your know me, Queen of Insomnia... Oh didn't I mention BITE? I've been so damn busy with it that I haven't had time! We opened last night so I can now settle into the routine of the once weekly Friday show. Ahhhh... My shrink finally prescribed me some sleeping pills when I broke down on the couch and sobbed about how much I miss sleep. Okay, it wasn't that dramatic but I was ready to do it if she didn't help! Check out the sexy, sexy photos from BITE on the Dysfunctional website!

Some thoughts on your warm weather attire.

June 5: While according to the calendar it isn't summer yet--it IS after Memorial Day and NYC has been beastly hot lately. The summer fashions have come out and once again I'm wondering: "Who raised you people???". Now I am no fashion genius, but some things are just common sense and besides all that--my momma raised me right. Some tips for the general populace:

1. Get a slip. No one wants to see your underwear. And did you know that a slip will help your skirt hang better and also keep it from sticking to your legs as you walk? Well it will. They come in all lengths and varying degrees of fullness. Check 'em out in the lingerie department. We'd all appreciate it.

2. Colored bras under white t-shirts are tacky. Way tacky. Tacky with a capital T! It isn't a fashion statement, dears, it just makes you look trashy.

3. While on the subject of t-shirts. Do try to get one that fits. This morning I saw a perfectly nice looking woman on the way to the subway. Except for one thing. Her t-shirt was so tight it looked like she had fat rolls. And she was skinny. So NOT flattering, honey. Think body skimming, not BINDING.

4. If your heels are hanging off the back of those high heeled sandals--they do not fit you properly!!! And HELLO--did you see the photos of Britney Spears almost dropping little Sean Preston on the street? Her heels so did not fit. For the safety of your baby and your ankles and our eyes, get some goddamn shoes that fit.

5. Let's ponder the thong for a bit here. A purple thong under a pair of white pants is not cool. Oh no, it is not. We can all see your undies as you climb the subway stairs. Quit being an exhibitionist and invest in some FLESH colored panties, bitch!

That's all for now--frankly I'm finding this subject rather distressing. I keep having flashbacks to the too tight t-shirt this morning. She would have been so cute in something that fit! Damnit, people, quit making yourself look ugly!

Erin Elizabeth Gill is the cutest baby on the planet!

June 1:

For Memorial Day weekend we took the train down to Ringoes, New Jersey to hang out with my brother's happy little family. Where we were FINALLY able to meet our niece Erin.

Six weeks old and she already smiles huge! The kid is a genius. She also has the same little dent at the top of her right ear that I have! That's just cool. I look down at this precious little girl and there's a little tiny thing that's just like me! I could have just DIED from the cuteness!

There were presents bestowed upon the wee precious one. A handknit sweater (from a pattern in the ultra fabulous Mason-Dixon book, naturally). She was so thrilled with it that she just passed out from the sheer BLISS of the moment:

And a cute little teddy bear that I had bought in Paris--it's a DMC product and its bib is aida cloth so it can be embroidered sweetly for baby. Why don't we get the good supplies over here? Do they think Americans don't have good taste too??? Wait. Don't answer that one.

And what would a visit to the Gill-Martin house be without some quality photos of Colin and his cat? This is what Colin did with the Yankees hat we brought him. He gave it to the cat. Sigh.

Damn those kids are cute.
